Prof. Dr. Constantinos E. Vorgias is based at the University of Athens, Faculty of Biology, Department of Biochemistry-Molecular Biology. At the pre-graduate level he teaches Basic Biochemistry for students of Pharmacy and Biology as well as Biotechnology for Biologists. He is also responsible for Erasmus exchange program between Athens University and Fatih University in Istanbul and Ege University in Izmir.
His laboratory offers a well-equipped research environment with a variety of technologies of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Structural Biology. The group is associated with several working groups in Athens, Ulm, Kiel, Hamburg in Germany, Academy of Science in Poznan Poland and Institute for Nanotechnology, Bar Ilan University, Ramat-Gan, Israel, among others.
The group is a member of the ISTRUCT Initiative and the European Consortium Biostruct-X for European Large Installation Facilities. The group offers a stimulating research environment at international level and young people can carry out Diploma, Master and PhD thesis. In many case this educational activity is extended also in the affiliated research groups. Prof. Dr. Constantinos Vorgias is also member of the International PhD program of the Polish Education Department.
The last 5 years he is also teaching at the Hellenic Open University and his class is in Thessaloniki. He is also member of the Board Committee for the Master of Bioinformatics at the University of Athens and also talks to other Master of the University of Athens (Environment and Health, Medical School and Enzyme Biotechnology (Agricultural University).
